San Felipe (Spanish pronunciation: [sam feˈlipe]) is the capital of the Venezuelan state of Yaracuy. Former Venezuelan President Rafael Caldera was born there. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Felipe. San Felipe is situated in a rich agricultural region of Western Venezuela. It is located two hours from Barquisimeto, the capital of the Venezuelan state of Lara and an hour from Moron, a small town in the state of Carabobo on the Venezuelan coast. Like Barquisimeto, San Felipe also produces many agricultural products for the rest of the country such as milk, livestock, grains and flour.
